Usually we don't pay much attention to narrow stairs to the basement, but those that leads to this place are another thing. Very convenient location (just 3 mins walk from the station), crispy & tasty kushiage (deep fried meat/seafood/veges on skewers), and the price you can't beat... Who can miss out this place?

Since it's a quite popular place with only 18 seats, strongly recommend to make a reservation before going. Of course if you're lucky enough, you can just drop by and have a seat. But if you don't want to miss a chance to enjoy crispy & nice kushiage like I did many times without a reservation, don't trust your luck, just phone and keep your seat(s).

One skewer is from 80 yen, but what I recommend is their course menus. Matsumoto course includes 10 skewers of vegetables in season, seafood & meat, bowls of rice & vegetables (free seconds), and dessert - it's only 1500 yen! And 2 more kushiage for Azumino course at 2000 yen. If you want more kushiage, try "Omakase course". That is the course that you can enjoy many kinds of delicious kushiage until you say "Enough!".
